Australia is home to many unique species of native flowers unlike those originating anywhere else in the world. Over thousands of generations, they have adapted to extreme aridity and heat. Here we see the bright red Waratah, a striking, large bloom native to Southeastern parts of Australia, and Wattle, the sunshine yellow National Flower of Australia. The seeds of the wattle, crushed and used as a nutritious flour are used as an important food source by First Nations people of Australia.
