The inspiration for this piece came late one evening. It was a spontaneous idea that sketched quickly, always my sign that it is a piece I will complete in full.

Whenever I look at the finished piece I am transported to sitting on the bank under the trees. It is soothing and feeds my fascination for water reflections and the healing nature of water.

Water nourishes us in so many ways and is symbolic of our emotional and intuitive states. It connects all living things, and sustains us. Our natural world needs us to care and protect it from pollution and harm, so that we may live in closer connection with it. It is secluded and unassuming places like Rose Valley, that remind us that we don’t need to look to the heavens to see the divine nature of life.
