The delicacy of Jacaranda flowers up close, cradled in their delicate, fern-like leaves. Rarely do I mange to paint something subtle, with delicacy and restraint. On this canvas, I feel I achieved it, with one of my very favourite subjects, the Jacaranda. This painting is a delightful mix of positive and negative, with many flowers merely suggested by the absence of sky in their space. I have the original in my home, where I intend to look at it for many, many years.
