The inspiration for this painting came from my honeymoon, when we went snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. The coral was amazing and some of it came right up to the surface of the water. The water was a beautiful aqua and turquoise colour and when the sun was shining on it, it sparkled like gold. In this painting I have chosen alcohol inks, for they have such an intense colour with white and indigo for the coral.
