The Lilac-breasted Roller has learnt to ‘roll with the spikes’ in African acacia trees. African landscapes can be harsh and unforgiving.

Despite this, Africa has some of the most beautiful birds and creatures which have adapted to survive in these challenging conditions. This beautiful lilac-breasted roller has clearly learnt to ‘roll with the spikes’ and manages to safely land within the vicious sharp spikes of an Acacia tree in Botswana.
