Description

Open Edition Reproduction

“Wabi Sabi” is a unique mixed media artwork that embodies the Japanese philosophy of embracing imperfections. This piece features receipts collected during my trip to Japan, meticulously glued onto a board and enhanced with Japanese ink and calligraphy. The word “Wabi Sabi” is painted in the center, surrounded by English phrases such as “accepting the flow of life,” “embracing natural flow gracefully,” “nothing lasts, nothing is perfect,” and “finding beauty within imperfections.”

Utilizing the Kintsugi method, gold leaf highlights the creases, symbolizing the art of mending and the beauty in brokenness. This artwork invites viewers to appreciate the transient, imperfect nature of life, making it a thought-provoking addition to any collection.
