The roses graced the shelf bereft of colour and softness, and yet they still possessed beauty. Charcoal met my hands as I portrayed the stunning shapes and forms of the now transformed roses. An inner beauty still shone, a slight remnant of colour hinting at their former glory. With heads bowed the flowers nodded as if submitting with grace to the end stage of life. Withering, but undefeated. I hope that we can also grow old with grace adding a different beauty for all to behold.
