I love watching the pelicans swimming amongst the boats in the canal. "Just keep swimming" is a very bright and fun painting that reminds me of the way they make the water ripple and the colourful reflections it makes. To create the different colours of the reflections in the water I used many layers of coloured texture and lots of different coloured inks. The pelican is highly textured. The original painting is a highly tactile piece on stretched canvas.
