When a name fits…. This palm cockatoo certainly is a Scruffbucket.

Corellas are the silliest, yellow crested cockatoos are the noisiest and palm cockatoos sure are the scruffiest of the native cockatoos in Australia. I’ve yet to see a palm cockatoo who has neat feathers. I started out to simply paint one of these crazy looking parrots but as I went on the name Scruffbucket kept popping into my head. It’s a name my parents used to call me when I came home all covered in dirt and messed up hair, no wonder it came to mind, hmm. A crazy name for a crazy looking bird.
