Strong, proud and protective, the Roots of resilience. The Roots of Resilience – an Ode to trees of country. This painting is called Strength, and it was painted as a part of my Ode to trees series. I painted it with my two children in mind, how I would hope to protect them always. We are connected to our earth, our country and each other (cracked mud representing where my mob are from). We hang on to each other when we need to, we grow side by side and our trunks are strong. The sun colours behind us represent our strength and our will to keep going.
