So what does ANZAC Day mean to you? ANZAC Day is quite significant to me: I am fortunate to celebrate my birthday on ANZAC Day. Some say, ‘Lucky you – you always have a holiday for your birthday!’ But the reality is that I am quite honoured, more so humbled, to be born on such a significant day. I see it as a blessing: as a child of immigrants, who have had the great fortune to be welcomed into this amazing country.

A blessing that reminds me each year of the sacrifice made by others so that I get to enjoy all that is Australia. So with my poppies, I show respect, gratitude, love … and thanks to all the ‘Heroes’. We are indeed the lucky country.
