Queensland Based – Landscape / Ocean / Beach Artist
Catherine is an Australian visual artist living in Brisbane with her husband and two children. From an early age, she was keen to pursue an art focused career. Although Catherine had the opportunity to study visual art early on, she took a creative detour into studies in fashion and interior design and even had a millinery
business for a time. In recent years she has returned to painting full time.
In her current work, Catherine aims to capture and explore the dramatic beauty and vivid colours found in Australian landscapes and along the coastlines. She often draws inspiration for her paintings from places that she has enjoyed visiting around Queensland. Her work is realistic in style and displays a richness of colour and detail.
Catherine says, “I love hearing that my artworks have triggered a feeling of recognition or connection for the people that see them. This motivates me to continue creating paintings that celebrate the Australian landscape and ultimately provide a sense of enjoyment and a temporary escape for the viewer”.
