Lew Brennan lives in rural Australia in the small country town of Cooran in the State of Queensland. His art reflects the landscape and the people that surround his everyday. His work is held in collections throughout Australia and internationally. Lew’s art is a reflection of surviving, breathing and observing the rural life. It’s about the real deal. Finding and tracking the heart of a constantly changing phenomena. From working and sharing with the sons of the pioneers, through constant cultural change and the challenge of identifying authenticity in each new generation. The rural heart is still beating.
Lew works from his peaceful studio on the farm. This is his life, shared with family and their closest friends. This is the space in which he creates these outstanding works of art.
This lifestyle and rural setting create unique synergy that is manifested in his artworks, particularly when representing the beauty and majesty of the horse. His works feature an extraordinary blend of detail, anatomy, movement and above all – character and personality. His adept use of negative space creates both energy and calm.
