Always was, always will be Aboriginal land – a complex view of Australian bushland replete with icons of Indigenous ownership.

Australia's colours, light and heritage are ancient and unique. This painting captures many aspects of this wide brown land, from our native flora to the presence of an Aboriginal elder in the rock face. Crosshatching and dot painting are embedded across the canvas, both obfuscating and making clear the true nature of Australia. Subdued grey-greens and olive greens are juxtaposed against the rich reds and pale soils of of an ancient land, home to Eucalypts and grass trees.
