Afternoon at Tea Tree

I love painting the ocean and am particularly inspired by the color of the water along our stunning Sunshine Coast beaches. In this painting I aimed to transport the viewer to this idyllic afternoon in the Noosa National Park. I wanted to capture the quality of the light dappling the pandanus branches that framed this serene beachscape. Looking through the leaves across the sparkling water edged by golden sand, one glimpses a verdant tropical hillside beyond. Swimmers dot the distant waves, inviting the observer to escape the everyday and immerse themselves in the tranquil beauty of this scene.

This painting was a finalist in the 2024 Lethbridge Landscape Prize and won the Encouragement award at the 2023 Nundah Village Art Festival.

Details: Acrylic on Canvas, framed in a raw Australian oak, custom made float frame. Varnished and Ready to Hang.
