Description
This work is totally from my imagination, based on my night sky photography, travels through western Queensland and many hours over months experimenting to create my own starry sky techniques. I can see the scene I wish to create but as this is not an existing place, I can be quite free. Using primary hues placed a very watery stiff watercolour paper, board really, I tilt and swirl to mix and 'herd' the colour to my satisfaction. I find the technique a joy. The stars are white paper achieved with fine dot sprays of masking fluid before I paint. I was really pleased to sell the original to a western Queensland farmer who told me his wife just had to buy it. They really do know about western skies!
