As unpredictable as a wild garden. See things not as they are, but how they could be!
The imagination is like a wild and free garden. Wild and free does not mean lawlessness, but rather the freedom to be ‘wildly you’, to be your authentic self. It is understanding righteous law abides deeply within fully loving and being fully loved. It’s being aware of the purpose of rules without being restricted by them.
This painting speaks to the beauty of being ‘wild’, of the ability to see things in a different way and put things together that don’t make sense to others, with not one ounce of concern about where things “should” be or how things “should” look. There is serenity in the chaos.
The blossoms in this garden increase easily and release rich fragrance, and there is fertile ground wherever the seeds fall. Gathering beauty, there is always something happening. Always room for one more. Generous and confident.
The white magnolia flowers symbolise perfection, purity, and innocence. Magnolias are not field flowers but bloom on magnificent trees, some say amongst the oldest trees known to humanity. Magnolia trees are known to resist storms. The term ‘steel magnolia’ refers to a woman who is strong, independent, and also very feminine and regal. Quiet strength and beauty. Tulips symbolise perfection and yellow represents happiness. Wheat represents the harvest. Red is passion and burgundy-pink means deep joy. These things do not abide together in nature’s garden but there are no rules in the imagination.
Wild Garden was painted as a personal prophetic painting. The underpainting was a collaboration with artist Sonia Farrell of rich red promise contrasted with white magnolias.
