I am fond of triangles so when I visited old haunts recently around Caxton Street I was pleased to see the Hills clothes hoist was still in sight. This small area of unchanged domestic life and architecture down behind the football clamour and crowds of rollicking fans in Caxton Street is an island. I have used the calm cheerful colours of aqua, cerulean, apricot and gold to convey its separateness.
