This one was built in 1821 in English perpendicular Gothic style and was a favourite, amongst others, of Queen Victoria, and also Lee Kuan Yew, who had studied at the University. The bridge joins St John’s College’s accommodation “Backs” building to its New Court”. Students have on two occasions successfully dangled cars from the span.
