Each piece is a small section of cliff face viewed through the trees. I started at one end, and walked the entire picnic area to gather these 4 images. They are not connected in real-life, but once I started painting them, they all merged into one flowing landscape.
These were a challenge! I had never worked on a canvas this small in my life (50 x 50 cm). Nor spent so much time insisting on adding in details. I am not a very patient painter! However, I was thrilled with the result. The four all share similar colour tones as they were all worked on at the same time. And there is a LOT of layers here!
