Description
Acrylic on deep edged Canvas
Signed on the front.
In the sleepy NQ seaside town of Bowen, there is a secret: Horseshoe Bay. It’s a gorgeous cove, with clear turquoise waters edged with massive granite boulders. Every Boxing Day of my childhood, a large entourage of friends would make their way there from the Burdekin, an hour’s drive, for our Boxing Day picnic. It was the perfect summer setting for beautiful memories.
Fast forward to my most recent visit….
Yes, it’s confirmed, it is still a little slice of paradise! Although – I was a little taken aback to find, tucked in around the point, accessible only by boulder hopping, another secret… A hidden nudist beach! My blissful innocent childhood memories suddenly took on an adult perspective – suffice to say it was enough to inspire this painting.
