I wanted to capture this unusual cloud formation which seemed to rise soaring above the distant sand dune at the top of the hill. The narrow sea and ascending fence-line draw the viewer into the centre of the picture. The pale colours enhance the feeling of wistfulness which comes over me when I look at this painting and remember many happy holidays with my wife and children on the North Coast.
