The remnant tropical rainforest of the coastal hinterland in south-east Queensland, Australia is beautiful. This primal forest is in ‘kind’ country, with good rainfall, where trees can grow tall and the understorey can grow dense. It is a favourite place for me to walk, sit, observe and draw. I feel quite connected to nature being surrounded by all that intense greenery.

I enjoy watching the colours of the forest change as mist passes through it; the foreground colours remain richly intense while the background colours are muted by the vapour in the atmosphere.
