Description
Limited Edition Reproduction of 100 Only
Third in a series of 5 depicting the evolution the Scenic Rim, Clarence River and the Border Ranges with the westward flowing Clarence River collecting water and sediment and transporting both into the inland sea, or Eromanga Basin.
Towards 200 million years ago a very large river had developed with its origins in the prehistoric mountain range. This river flowed westwards into central Australia and contributed tones of sediment to the Central Great Australian Basin and inland sea. The prehistoric mountains were eroded and their core, consisting of granites, was exposed, “The Granite Belt”. The quartz in the granites contributed huge volumes of sand.
