Set in a field in France, the beautiful Comtois mares enjoy the sunshine. This oil painting done on a raw linen stretched canvas measuring 76cm x 61cm or 30"x24" is depicting the beautiful breed of draught horses from France.

Their gorgeous blonde manes reflecting the afternoon sun creating a surreal effect on their colouring which I tried to capture in oils. I really love the colours in this painting, the lines are so soft and feminine and you can feel the emotion of calm as they stand in the afternoon sun.
