Fire-red trunks support a plethora of blossom in this fantasized landscape. There are real Flame trees, but these aren't them! The spectacularly surprising native flowers of Australia never fail to astonish. This work began as a study of trunks, but eventually metamorphosed into an explosion of flowers. Sometimes, I just can't help myself… more is definitely more for this painting! Painted using my trademark textured and transparent style, I love how many nooks and crannies there are for the eye to explore. A sense of movement inhabits this painting, the marks of my brushes and knives writ large across the linen canvas.
