A fountain has a source that is from beneath the surface. It is only as it gathers strength that it breaks forth and shows its triumph to the world. The strength of the spirit is what is under the surface of our minds and hearts, and allows us to win the victory over our circumstances. A curtain is designed to be a buffer between two elements: outside and inside; light and dark. They hide one to open and reveal the other. So it is with hope. It is when the curtains of the heart are open that hope reveals itself. It has been there all of the time, but sometimes it’s been hidden behind the folds of our fears.
