A brief trip to Tasmania in 2017 finally allowed me to see what all the fuss was about! The natural earthy beauty of the Freycinet National Park and surrounding coastline disclosed a world of colour interpretation – warm and cool, hard and soft, moderated and intense.
The muted pinks, yellows and olive grey-greens of the underbrush contrast with the fluorescent intensity of the lichens and seaweeds covering the coastal rock formations.
Stormy skies and dark seas reverberate a weird light that speaks of volatile weather patterns and constant change. Stencilling and stamping add depth and interest to the textural layers, while focus on negative shapes reveals a winding path through the bush.
