Description

Limited Edition Reproduction – 100 only

This is one of the two prints that I created of these interesting land forms around Barcaldine. They are colloquially referred to as Jump Ups. This is vast, low rainfall country in the centre of Queensland. The plant forms that have evolved here have a powerful resilience about them. The orange tones of the soil are stunningly beautiful, even confronting, and the Jump Ups roll on for kilometres. The contrast between the blue of the sky across the wide orange horizon is breathtaking. I have left the top and the bottom of this print uncontained. and I have feathered out the colours of the soil and sky to allude to the vastness of the country.
