Just The Two Of Us – Two Major Mitchell Cockatoos

You could almost be mistaken for thinking these birds have only a blush of pink on their feathers – until you see their crest. A spectacle of red and burnt oranges, such eye catching plumage has inspired this lively watercolour. Connecting the two birds weaves the appendage of an aging gum, delicate in its fine groves and imperfections. Have they met before? Is this their first encounter or are the cracklings or familiar conversation about to ensue? I’m confident it would have been a memorable engagement.
