Pennsylvania Longwoods garden is famous for its glass house and lily pond. The different shapes and hues of the glass house with the light reflecting through the glass onto the pond highlights the beautiful variety of plants that are grown here. The reflection of the glasshouse within the pond also adds to this serene setting. I have aimed to use different hues and shapes to compose this painting to capture the audiences focus on all that is going on within this tranquil scene. This includes fish under the lilies and to the right foreground, a dragon fly. I enjoyed painting the calming blues and green hues and then contrasting this with the red and white lilies. This painting demands you stop and look awhile and take in the beauty of nature.
