The Major Mitchell is one of Australia’s endearing Cockatoos. I painted this one at the end of 2019 intending to enter it into a bird painting competition.
Alas, this piece didn’t make it as before I finished the piece, my Macaw; George landed on it, and bit a massive hole in the top. Heart broken, I didn’t touch this artwork for months before I finally decided to finish it in 2020 and sent it to Mark to work his digital magic on the reproductions. You can now own a lovely copy of this artwork (without the massive macaw bite mark in the top corner.)
