Description
Limited Edition Reproduction of 100 Only
Second in a series of 5 showing evolution of the Scenic Rim, Clarence River and the Border Ranges and here we see the deformation of rocks during the late Carboniferous and Permian time.
At about 290 million years ago the prehistoric sea was squeezed, folded and lifted up into a mountain range. This prehistoric mountain range contained New Zealand, New Caledonia plus the Whitsunday, New England and Scenic Rim areas of eastern Australia. The new mountain range was the source of water and sediment for the new-to-form, westward flowing, Clarence River.
