Limited Edition Reproduction of 250 Only
The night is silent and overcast, until the clouds have parted and the light of a bright moon has illuminated the scene. A lone Light Horseman with his horse is doing his turn on night watch. He has been peering into the darkness while his horse has taken the opportunity to graze on the scant vegetation along the wadi shelf. (a wadi is a gully or valley- usually dry)
His companions and their saddled horses sleep out of the picture in the shelter of a wadi bank. They are out on a few days patrol in the desert and all through the night one of his section will remain awake with his horse, ready- just in case the Turkish enemy approaches, or even wandering Bedouins, who technically were on the British side, but in reality were on no side other than their own and could not be trusted.
