Trees offering protection, like a parent of a child. The Roots of Resilience – an Ode to trees of country. This painting is called ‘Not on my watch" and it represents the protective feeling and obligation one has towards younger or more vulnerable people. Much like a larger tree offers protection to younger saplings while they are growing. The layers beneath the trees represent time, interspersed with "cracked mud" which is how I paint my country connection.
