Description

Open Edition Reproduction

A drawing of the “Ever Forward” memorial statue on Omaha Beach that commemorates the bloody D-Day landing of the 116th Infantry regiment on the western aspect of Omaha Beach, best depicted in “Saving Private Ryan” and “The Longest Day”.

The statue graphically depicts the reality of the assault and the details of the GI’s personal equipment. The device to the rear is a Czech anti-tank “hedgehog” obstacle, part of a plethora of defences designed by Erwin Rommel, the German commander in Normandy.
