They say it takes a village to raise the young…the gyr cattle are no different…
This painting entitled 'Pride and Joy' is the gorgeous moment when the new born calf is welcomed and becomes part of the herd. The original is painted on a stretched raw linen canvas that measures 24"x 36" or 61 cm x 91.5 cm .

I used oil paint to depict these amazing animals, they all have the most striking blue eyes and you can feel the love and emotion within the image. I am so very lucky to have wonderful friends who allow me to use there awesome photos to create my artwork, I am blessed.
