Rainbow Lorikeets in Golden Penda tree

I spent a year living at Bribie Island around 2014. I did a lot of walking and nature photography there. This painting is a somewhat altered copy of one of the photos that I took. I later discovered that the tree depicted here is a Golden Penda tree and that they were planted up and down many South East Queensland streets during the late 80’s as it was the theme plant for Expo 88. The intention was to create a "sea of gold".
