High tide coupled with strong winds and violent conditions created a marvellously hypnotic rhythm of water pulsating as it ran the race to the short cliff face. It seemed to almost convulse and spin this way and that, up and down and round about.

I stood mesmerized and wet from the overspray as the waves reached their destination. I was overjoyed at the strength, the predictability and the yet the variety of directional attitudes of the sea as it played this most ferocious game.
