This is one of those rare paintings I glimpsed in my mind’s-eye before I put paint to canvas.

The blown glass bauble was a surprise present. The skull is a souvenir from Bali. I saw it, thought it was stricking and I bought it.

The pink-iced-cake person I spied at the local Doughnut King. She was the perfect Juliet. Guaranteed to set the heart racing of any tin-toy Romeo. Love at first sight. Truly, a match made in a shopping centre.

And the baked beans? Some artists paint flowers or fruit in ceramic bowls. I chose baked beans.
