Being a lover of purples (‘and there are so many variations of ‘purple”) Cox chose to base the artwork ‘Seduction’ on Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2018: Ultra Violet. Purple (violet, lavender, mauve, plum, magenta… the list goes on and on) covers the beautiful array of colours that are created when reds and blues are blended.

The beauty of ‘purple’, as Cox sees it, is that it’s varying tones can range in mood from calm and soothing to dramatic and tempestuous. Cox successfully uses this contrast of mood to skillfully create this semi-abstract floral piece, applying and lifting layers of translucent acrylic colours.

The piece ‘Seduction’ was named after the stunning Seduction Rose, a delicate, pink-flushed Iceberg. Again, it demonstrates Cox’s artistry with her signature semi-abstract floral style.
