Description

Limited Edition Reproduction – 100 only

This is one of a series of prints drawn from the Warrumbungles National Park in New South Wales, Australia. It is temperate, rocky country with leached soil. It is the kind of place that the ancient Celts would have described as ‘thin country’; there is a presence about it. The folds of the mountains bend space and distort perspective in an interesting way. The smooth white trunks of the trees become half silver grey with afternoon shadow.

The harmony and contrast between the smooth trunks against the brokenness of the ground with its sparse ground cover, all this provides wonderful design elements for a print composition.
