Limited Edition Reproduction of 100 Only
As I’ve said I like the oddball. Comic strips from the 1950’s, saucy-seaside postcards, American pin-up art. I liked this stuff both as a child and as an adult. And over the years I’ve aquired old comics, magazines and books. Just stuff that I liked and held on to. So this is an amalgum of images, memories from childhood and adulthood linked to places in the world I’ve visited. However, the real inspiration for this, Hannah, aged 8 at the time. She drew people with smiles, teeth and glasses (top left, centre bottom).
Original but never naive. And I’ve always held a facination for images that repeat. Like cigarette cards (if you’re old enough to remember them). Each the same size but no two images the same. This started with the first square, top left, and just grew. Other than liking, choosing and compiling the individual images I haven’t a clue what drives me to make these choices and decisions. As they say ….. every picture tells a story. And all these make me …. smile!
