"Surrender" represents stepping into and being that which inspires you, drawing to you, your own divine gifts. This piece became a key piece in from Cheryl's body of work is titled “Divine by Design”. This body of work represents an aspect of ourselves, with each piece or Angel symbolizing a quality or strength of the divine at work. The artworks are named by the qualities that they emanate with, and that which is within each of us, as we are all Divine by Design.

At the the time of painting Surrender, I was transitioning through the process of leaving the security of a finance career to go from part time artist to full time artist. While also finding my feet as a solo parent after my divorce. During this time I felt divine support which is symbolised by his wing placement.

Along the way I found an understanding of the power of family and friends, and new friendships. It was a time a following what felt right over what was logically right for myself and our family. I remember the process of completing this piece and feeling a new level of self belief in my new path as an artist. Mya he inspire you you also to follow your dreams.
