Felt by many to be the world’s most beautiful building, the Taj Mahal in Agra, Utter Pradesh, is the mausoleum built by Mughal Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth in 1631. The architectural style draws on several Islamic influences. The work emphasises the symmetry and the use of the water feature to reflect the building.
