This painting of the glorious tibouchina shrub shows the effect that the strong sub-tropical light has on the blooms. The shrub has varieties with blooms from pink through to a rich mauve colour. This painting won 1st prize in the Australian Artist Magazine’s ‘Flowers and Gardens’ competition and published in the June 2012 edition of the magazine.
