The fore-shortened view of the Tiger’s length and back particularly appealed to me as a subject for art, with the head in the correct proportion in relation to the curved form of the reclining tiger.

An Amur tiger lying quietly at rest, and looking benignly back over his shoulder at the viewer. I created the original artwork with acrylic paints on a stretched canvas. An Amur tiger has the genetic characteristics of Siberian tigers, and the Amur River flows through an area between south-eastern Russia and north-eastern China.
