Winter is a beautiful time to visit Venice. With smaller crowds, it is easier to walk around and admire the ancient glories of this fragile city. The days are often cool and misty. The gondolas are vacant and tied up together in long rows at San Marco, looking towards Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore.
